Usually always my go to for Sushi birthday dinner celebrations in Brooklyn.
Recently, we went on a Sunday around 7PM for a dinner for 4 people. You don't need a reservation beforehand, but I'd ask for the private rooms upon arrival. I was a bit taken aback when they didn't offer it as the default seating - would have added a nice touch. The rooms are private and you have to take off your shoes and sit on a cushion.
We usually always order salmon special, tuna special, sunset roll, 18th Ave roll, and Brooklyn roll. The specials come with fatty pieces of sashimi, tuna/salmon rolls and bigger pieces of fish on top of rice. The sunset roll is usually our favorite special roll - interesting texture and good mix of eel in it! Some apps we've tried are the maki maki chicken and yakitori both of which were really good. The seaweed and kani salads are pretty standard. Usually the specials come with miso soup and salad on the side as well. My mom really enjoys the eel donburi and the naki udon (very big portion and generous with a little bit of veggies, seafood, egg). I'm not a crazy fan of their dessert selection - they serve fried ice cream and lady M slices.
The overall ambience is pretty decent and for the amount of food you get, price doesn't break the bank. Quality of food is definitely better than most all you can eat sushi joints in Brooklyn. -

Although Tenzan is not my go-to when I think of sushi or Japanese food, it was quite decent the last couple of times I ate here.
First of all, this place is HUGE. Like two floors huge. I really how it feels so relaxing and calm in there because it's pretty quiet and you don't feel cramped. Ask for their private sliding booths to make your experience a bit more fun lol.
I always get their sweet potato rolls or bento boxes. I find it kind of funny that they add an Orange in the bento boxes but I don't usually eat it lol. They also have some interesting appetizers like spicy tuna pizza.
Not to mention, their service is great. Last time my friend asked for cold water, tea, and another drink and they didn't question her or just get her one and not the other.
Parking shouldn't be too bad since it's nearby a residential area. -

We each had lunch special rolls: cali roll with healthy slabs of avocado, salmon avocado, yellow tail, spicy salmon, and avo eel x 2.
Service was decent but they lack certain items every time (Ahem *uni*). And price of eel has increased, again. Irregardless, the service was impeccable because we definitely overstayed and I've lost count how many times they'd served me piping hot tea without my mug ever getting to the bottom.
Spacious, cozy, sorta outdated with neon signs but great service and fresh fish makes a good sushi joint to this chica. -

Good quality Japanese foods with the best bang for your bucks. Service is good. The sashimi deluxe was good, and the best price better than anywhere that I know of. The Unagi Don was pretty with a cherry on top. Corny, but it's good. Shrimp tempura was good. Loved the Japanese tea. Definitely will come back for more.

Usually my go to sushi spot in the neighborhood. We've been here and ordered take out/delivery a bunch of times but yesterday was a major disappointment.
Called in at 5pm to order pick up and specifically stated pick up for 6:15pm. Arrived on time and was told to wait a few minutes for the food to be packed. Okay. 20 minutes later... food is almost ready. 30 minutes later... food just needs to be packed. Finally, 45 minutes later, got our food and items were missing. Had to wait an additional 10 minutes for everything to be ready.
The rice on the sushi pieces were extra thick and fell apart. The rolls were made bad and also fell apart. What happened?
I understand it was Mother's Day and it was busy but waiting an hour for a take out order that was called ahead is pretty ridiculous. Waiter and restaurant manager was unapologetic
